This guide explains how to quickly collect a consultation fee using LolliPayments. Consultation fees are often the first financial interaction a client has with your firm. LolliPayments helps make this process simple, professional, and convenient. Let's look at the steps:
Step 1: Open Contact Record
Open an existing contact record and navigate to the Consultation card.
Step 2: Add New Consultation
Click Add Consultation to create a new consultation entry.
Step 3: Enter Consultation Details
Fill in the consultation details, including the appropriate calendar, the user conducting the consultation, the date and time, and the amount to charge. Optionally, add notes to help you prepare for the consultation.
Step 4: Save Consultation Entry
Click Save to create the consultation entry.
Step 5: Process Payment
Click the action menu next to the consultation entry and select Process Payment.
Step 6: Choose Payment Option
You will see three options:
Record a payment manually (e.g., cash, check)
Send bill to client
Accept payment right away
Step 7: Send Bill to Client
If you choose Send Bill:
Select the destination account.
Enter the client's email address.
The client will receive an automated payment link by email to securely complete the payment.
Step 8: Accept Payment Immediately
If you choose Accept Payment:
Select the destination account.
Enter the payment amount.
Choose the client's payment method. If the client has previously paid through LolliPayments, their saved payment method will appear. Otherwise, securely add a new card or bank account.
Step 9: Process the Payment
Once payment information is entered, click Process Payment to process the transaction.
Step 10: Confirm and Review
You will receive a confirmation notification, and the consultation entry will automatically show that it has been billed. To review the completed transaction, navigate to the Billing tab, then Transaction. Select the appropriate bank account to view transaction details.
