In this scenario, your client wants to make a payment and is either in person or over the phone. You will need to determine whether the payment is for an existing bill or if the payment is to be applied to the trust account.  Follow the steps below depending on where the payment should be made.

 

Apply the payment to an existing invoice (Firm Operating Account)

Follow the steps below to process a one-time payment and have it applied to a specific bill. The payment record will appear in Lolly Law under Billings>Invoicing and under Matter>Transactions.

  1. Go to Billings>Invoicing
  2. Locate the bill in the invoices table. Use filters if needed
  3. Click Edit and select Accept Payment (via LawPay) from the actions dropdown
  4. Choose One-Time Charge and fill out the payment form
  5. Select the payment account destination (i.e. Firm Operating Account)
  6. Fill out the Client and Case details
  7. Set the Payment amount and description
  8. Enter the credit card information
  9. Save to complete

 

Apply the payment to the trust account (Main Trust Account)

Follow the steps below to process a one-time payment and have it applied to the trust account. You can indicate the client and matter name to associate to the payment so that it appears available in the matter record.

  1. Go to Billings>Payment Processing
  2. Press Accept Payment via LawPay
  3. Choose One-Time Charge and fill out the payment form
  4. Select the payment account destination (i.e. Main Trust Account)
  5. Fill out the Client and Case details
  6. Set the Payment amount and description
  7. Enter the credit card information
  8. Save to complete
