Creating a New Matter

To get started, users will navigate to the contact record already created in the system. In the below example, we have opened Isabel Santiago's contact record. From there, I can select the 'Create New' action button next to the search bar and choose 'Open New Matter' from the dropdown list. This will open a pop-up window.

LollyLaw will automatically generating an ID. Users can then enter a title based on their office's established naming conventions and select the case type from LollyLaw's library of over 55 immigration specific case types.

In the 'Billing' section, users can select the billing type and contract amount.

In the 'Parties Involved' section, users can select the contact record to attach to the matter.

Farther down, in the 'Assignments' section, users can assign the matter to a specific office and users. At least one user is required to be entered in this section. Once assigned, you can use the dropdown to determine their role in the matter. In the 'Case Theory/Notes' section, users can add any notes about the case.

That is a summary on how to create a new matter in LollyLaw. If you still have questions, you can view the related help articles, our video series shown at the top of this article, or reach out to our support team, support@lollylaw.com, and we will be happy to help.
